We’re Alice and Emilie, both expatriates in Madrid. It was in 2018 (just a few months apart) that the winds of change blew and we arrived in Madrid as a family.

Sharing at the same time this powerful experience of expatriation, it is with great enthusiasm that we have launched in 2019 the site ” Madrid en Famille ” in the 1st time.

In the course of our discoveries, visits and administrative procedures, we wanted to share our experiences with French-speaking parents living in Madrid looking for practical information, as well as with visiting families.

A year later, more motivated than ever, we decided to evolve our old site by creating Vivremadrid.com to share with as many people as possible our curiosity about Madrid and our love for its people.

Emilie

Emilie: “Formerly from Lille, I’m the mother of 2 children who were 3 and 5 when we moved to Madrid. Passionate about the web and above all about travel (big and small), I decided to take on a new challenge by launching Vivre Madrid! A few years ago, I also created the Parents-voyageurs blog and podcast.

Alice

Alice : “I arrived in Madrid as a family with my 2-year-old twins in tow. They say that expatriation pushes you to reinvent yourself, and that’s exactly what happened for me. After working in marketing research for a few years in Paris, a new adventure began with Vivre Madrid!”

In 2022, Alice has returned to Paris and is no longer working on our project. However, you can still find these articles on the site with all the experiences you’ve had in Madrid!

UPDATE 2022: Alice has now returned to France and decided to pursue new projects. She will always be the co-founder of this wonderful project. Today, I’m taking up the torch on my own to keep this medium up to date and to continue to help French speakers as they settle in or go about their daily lives.
