Living in Madrid and traveling in Spain

Behind the Live Madrid website (vivremadrid.com in french), there are two French expatriates in Madrid: Emilie and Alice. We met soon after settling in and immediately knew we wanted to work together on a project we are passionate about.

After spending hours struggling to find the information we needed to settle in Madrid, we wanted to help other French speakers with their move to Madrid. But not only that! We fell in love with the Spanish capital and the country. We wanted to share our discoveries.

Thus, in January 2020, we decided to join the “Vivre à” network, creating our own edition in Madrid: a site for Living in Madrid, Visiting Madrid, and Traveling in Spain. Live Madrid (vivre madrid in french) officially came into existence in June 2020.

Madrid and its region are our daily playground. We love exploring the city for a good address, visiting the latest exhibition, or scouring the region for a nice hike, a charming pueblo, or less-known trails. Since living in Spain, we’ve also been lucky to visit many regions with diverse landscapes. With its mountains, deserts, kilometers of coastline, islands, historical heritage, and still very present traditions, Spain is a country we never tire of visiting!

Each week, we share all these discoveries, addresses, tips, and practical information through our articles and on our social networks.
